Round 2: Jabril Cox, LSU. . player. 817. . .

The Philadelphia Eagles need to add a playmaker at linebacker.

Louisiana State University linebacker Jabril Cox is a six-foot-four, 235-pound monster roaming the middle of the field. Blessed with amazing vision, Cox has the skillset that coaches dream about at night. A true sideline-to-sideline backer, Cox has the speed to play in coverage or attack the quarterback.

The former NDSU Bison has a football intelligence that is unmatched at this level. He also has the tools to be a star in the National Football League. When you watch him defend the pass, it’s easy to fall in love with his potential, but it’s his play against the run-game that can be outright scary for opposing offenses.

The Eagles drafted two linebackers in 2020, and it is way too early to know how good they really are (or if they’re good at all). Regardless of what they become, the Birds need to find difference-makers to help their defense. Finding a player who can set the tone could be the right way to go, and Cox could be that guy.

It’s been a while since the Eagles have had a star at the linebacker position. Cox could be a player that changes the fortunes of the defense going forward.
