. . Jaylen Waddle. 2. player. 829.

Philadelphia Eagles fans have probably heard of this guy before.

That other Alabama receiver, better known as Jaylen Waddle, has been climbing draft boards and is garnering some serious attention. Before injuring his ankle against Tennessee in 2020, Waddle was absolutely electric and averaged over 20 yards per catch and over 100 yards per game. If you want a home run type of receiver, Waddle’s your guy.

Possessing a rare blend of speed and route-running ability, Waddle is a chess piece that every offensive coordinator wants to have. You can place him on the outside, in the slot, or even put him in the backfield. Even if you just send him in motion, he will have defenders scrambling. He’s that dangerous with the ball in his hands.

His fit on the Philadelphia Eagles is one that’s worth discussing. Jalen Reagor has a similar skillset to Waddle, and finding ways to put them both on the field at the same time might be a challenge. Still, the Birds need a consistent and reliable pass catcher, and Waddle projects to be more of a big-play receiver. His selection won’t make anyone angry.
