Another big body Philadelphia Eagles tight end.

Even if Zach Ertz is somehow on the roster in 2021, it’s highly unlikely he’ll resign after this upcoming season. The Birds need to develop some younger tight ends. They do have a number of developmental tight ends on the roster, but expectations need to be lowered for Hakeem Butler and Tyree Jackson, who will both need to spend some time adjusting to their new position.

Jason Croom has shown flashes and could be a good piece on the offense with more playing time. Outside of that, Caleb Wilson will need to fight to just get a roster spot. It’s worth noting that the Eagles don’t have Justin Peelle anymore. Jason Michael will have big shoes to fill as the new tight ends coach.

It’s not a bad idea to bring in competition late in the draft and Angeline could be a matchup nightmare in the red zone at six-foot-six, 250-pounds. In his last two college seasons, he posted 11 touchdowns.

While he evidently has the size to contribute at the position, he can also move pretty well. As we’ve talked about before, Sirianni and the Colts coaching staff sure loved to create YAC opportunities for their players. Angeline could certainly be a role player on any offense. If he can work on his blocking ability, he’ll lock up a roster spot this fall.
