Philadelphia Eagles, seven-round mock draft: Picking 12th
By Hunter Doyle
Tre Norwood is a steal for the Philadelphia Eagles at 224.
Philly double-dips at corner at the 224yh selection with the selection of Tre Norwood in Round 6. The Oklahoma product has a high ceiling for a late-round prospect and could become a starter in the right defense.
If you want to talk about ball skills, Tre had five interceptions in 2020 after missing 2019 with a knee injury. He tends to be in the right place at the right time, and that isn’t just by chance. It’s because of his instincts and anticipation on routes.
At six-foot, 190-pounds, Tre figures to fight for a spot in the secondary wherever he lands. During his time at Oklahoma, he played outside, inside, and even at safety.
Versatility is the name of the game in today’s NFL. Norwood will also provide value as a special teamer. He played on all four phases of special teams while he was a Sooner. Tre is the perfect type of player to take a chance on.
He has the feel of a Quez Watkins in terms of where scouts value him versus the ceiling he actually has. Any team who takes Norwood will likely be rewarded for giving him an opportunity.
