Believe it or not, the Philadelphia Eagles have other options at tight end.

Don’t allow yourselves into being tricked into the fact that you’ve read something that hasn’t been written. Trust and believe that we all get it. By trading back in the 2021 NFL Draft, the Philadelphia Eagles all but assured that they probably weren’t taking a quarterback in Round 1. They also may have taken themselves out of the Ja’Marr Chase sweepstakes.

Then, there’s Kyle Pitts. Arguably the most talented player in the draft regardless of position, this six-foot-six, 239-pound prospect is graded by some as the second-most talented option in Round 1 behind Trevor Lawrence.

Sure, in the end, this idea to trade back might have been the best thing for Philadelphia. They got an additional first-rounder in the 2022 NFL Draft. They also gave up a fifth-round selection and got a fourth-rounder for 2021 out of the deal (they didn’t have a fourth-rounder initially).

Sure, there’s the thing about potentially losing Zach Ertz, but Philly has a nice young option in Dallas Goedert. They also have some draftable options at the position if they address their needs in the selection meeting, and that’s true even if they miss out on Kyle Pitts. Here’s a ranking of the top ten guys at the position once he’s off of the board.
