Should the Philadelphia Eagles trade down in the 1st round?

With the 2021 NFL Draft being mere days away (everything goes down on beginning on April 29th), Philadelphia Eagles fans around the nation are holding their collective breath, anticipating whether the ‘Fire Howie’ comments will continue to plague their Instagram page for another year.

Howie Roseman, along with this new, young, coaching staff, is unpredictable. The Eagles draft room is notorious for moving up or down in the first round, doing so to select players such as Carson Wentz and Andre Dillard. Since 2016, the Eagles have only had relied on the own first-round positioning once. That was the 2020 draft, so it’s easy to assume that they will try to move around in this one as well.

Amid all the rumors that the Eagles may move up for Pitts or a QB (per Jason La Canfora), there is also value in discussing players they can grab if they trade back. With 11 picks in the 2021 draft, the most of any team in the league, it may seem strange to think that acquiring picks is a need for them right now. Still, it looks like they will be rebuilding, and stockpiling draft picks for the 2022 draft seems like a smart move if that is the case.

With that being said, here are three great talents that the Birds could trade down for and still acquire.
