One more Philadelphia Eagles seven-round NFL mock draft
What’s that? The Philadelphia Eagles need a pass rusher?
Though it may not seem like their most pressing need currently, the Philadelphia Eagles might want to think about what they plan to do at the defensive end position going forward. We all love him, but Brandon Graham is getting old, and if no extension is given to Derek Barnett (it’s not like he’s proven that he deserves one), this might be his farewell tour in the City of Brotherly Love.
Josh Sweat is also in a contract season, and he can play. Past him, however, you’ve got Joe Ostman and Matt Leo now that it appears that Gernard Avery is going to stand up and play linebacker. Yep, Philly had better invest in someone to play on the defensive edge.
Throw a potential late-rounder Chauncey Golston into the mix for that reason. He;s six-foot-five. He tips the scales at 270 pounds, and in 36 games at the collegiate level, he hauled the guy with the ball down 129 times. That includes 27 tackles that resulted in a loss of yardage. Add that to 12 career sacks and, believe it or not, three interceptions. With all of that being said, you can see why he earns a spot on this list.
