By Hunter Doyle
What does the 2021 NFL Draft hold for the Philadelphia Eagles?
It’s here. April 29th, 2021: Draft Day. For Philadelphia Eagles fans, draft day is a day that is often associated with frustration. We won’t mention the surprises from last year that many fans have still not come to terms with.
This year’s draft is loaded with talent. It feels like even general manager Howie Roseman can’t miss on Days 1 and 2. That is the hope of Eagles fans everywhere. We can’t blame you for believing otherwise.
It would appear that Trevor Lawrence and Zach Wilson are locked in at picks one and two. There’s been a lot of talk around pick three. If the reports are true, it sounds like Mac Jones will be the guy in San Francisco.
Even if his name isn’t called at three, it’s safe to say Kyle Shanahan and the 49ers will likely be taking a quarterback. After that, the draft becomes very interesting with plenty of teams looking to trade into the top ten and out of the top ten. At some spots, there aren’t any consensus picks. As always, we’re in for some big-time surprises on draft night. This year feels like a whole new level of unpredictability.
With the current state of the Eagles, not only do they need to land a generational talent at pick 12 but they also need to nail the rest of the draft. Soon enough, we will know which rookies will be in midnight green this fall. Fans and media have voiced their opinions for months and it’s time to finally find out. Before we do, let’s take one last look at a potential three-round mock draft for the Eagles.
