. . Dayo Odeyingbo, DE/DT, Vanderbilt. . player. 887.

This might be the best EDGE guy that no Philadelphia Eagles fan is talking about.

We all know how much the Philadelphia Eagles fawn over guys that play in the trenches, both on offense and on defense. We also know that, as much as they love defensive linemen, especially those that are free agents and played in the AFC, they might love versatility just a tad more.

Dayo Odeyingbo is one of those versatile linemen. He can play outside at the defensive end position in the 4-3 scheme, his natural position. He can also play inside in those ‘Nascar’ type blitz packages that we’ve seen Philly run from time to time.

With a new defensive coordinator in Jonathan Gannon, no one knows what Philly will do yet, at least not completely, but we can assume getting after the other team’s signal-caller is a part of the thought process. Odeyingbo does that well.

This six-foot-six and 276-pound nightmare racked up 122 total tackles including 26.5 that resulted in a loss of yardage in 41 career games at the collegiate level. Add that to eight sacks, an interception, a forced fumble, and two pass breakups.

Place an asterisk by his name as legitimate second-day options. Carlos Basham (wake Forest),  Payton Turner, and Rashad Weaver are all nice options, but Dayo Odeyingbo might be the best of the remaining bunch when it comes to edge rushers.
