Who will the Philadelphia Eagles land in Round 1 of the 2022 NFL Draft?

Three days of draft picks are over after months of scouting. The Philadelphia Eagles have their new rookies for the 2021 NFL Season. The 2022 NFL Draft is now one year away. As always, we’re taking a way-too-early look at who Philly could land in Round 1 next year with what should be three first-round picks (we expect that Carson Wentz thing to work out in Indianapolis for the Colts).

While the Birds got tremendous value on a number of their picks this year, they also neglected to seriously address a couple of positions of need. The most notable of those would be cornerback.

Even after adding fourth-round pick Zech McPhearson, the Birds have little to no answers outside of Darius Slay. Let’s also not forget that Darius Slay won’t be around forever and isn’t getting any younger.

Avonte Maddox, Michael Jacquet, Craig James, Kevon Seymour, McPhearson, and a few others will compete for the other two starting spots. Maddox is best suited to play the slot or move to safety and throwing any of the others into the fire as CB2 could be a nightmare. With that being said, let’s take an early guess on what the Philadelphia Eagles might do in Round 1 of next year’s draft.

As you might imagine, a cornerback will be taken. Here’s an educated guess on who that might be, along with a couple of other very good options.
