The Philadelphia Eagles added six more prospects on Day 3.
We all knew Day 3 of the 2021 NFL Draft would be a busy one for this Philadelphia Eagles team, and that’s exactly what it was. Here are some final grades for Philly’s final six choices and an overall grade for the day’s proceedings.
Day 3 (CB Zech McPhearson, Round 4, 123rd selection): This seemed like a really late round to take what may have been the position that the Birds needed to address first or second. Zech McPhearson can be great if coached correctly though. Grade: C
Day 3 (RB Kenneth Gainwell, Round 5, 150th selection): Mark the words you read here and the words of everyone else that has said the same thing. Kenny Gainwell was a steal in Round 5. Grade: A
Day 3 (DT Marlon Tuipulotu, Round 6, 189th selection): This is a very interesting prospect in Round 6. Marlon Tuipulotu is someone this coaching staff should be able to turn into something special. Grade: C
Day 3 (EDGE Tarron Jackson, Round 6, 191st selection): Simply put, the Philadelphia Eagles couldn’t have landed a better prospect in Round 6. If you’re scouting the player and not the helmet, Tarron Jackson is someone that could have gone higher. Grade: B
Day 3 (S JaCoby Stevens, Round 6, 224th selection): Maybe everyone’s watching a different game, but JaCoby Stevens is a much better prospect than his draft position indicates. Grade: B+
Day 3 (EDGE Patrick Johnson, Round 7, 234th selection): As it stands right now, Patrick Johnson is someone who may contribute to the special teams unit, and that’s if he earns a spot on the roster. Right now, that looks like a very big if. Grade: C
Eagles Day 3 grade: B-
