Rodgers could be more trouble for the Philadelphia Eagles than he’s worth.

Most older quarterbacks want to go contenders or a destination where they’d be the final piece to a potential Super Bowl run. Here’s a serious question. Does it look like the Eagles are primed for a Super Bowl run? This is a team that is trying to find its identity again.

Trading with the Green Bay Packers to bring Rodgers to the City of Brotherly Love probably also means he’d be seeking a new deal that would be costly for the Birds. It also might impede them later as they try to add more talent to their roster.

What’s the point of trading for the reigning MVP if no one is certain that the offensive line can protect him?

Rodgers is tough and has played through injuries during his career, but the threat of being constantly under duress isn’t something he’s looking for in a new team.

If the reports are true about Rodgers wanting the Packers to fire their GM, the same thing could happen with Roseman with the Eagles. With some of the surprising moves Roseman makes in the draft or during the free agency period, it’s very believable that these two could wind up in the ‘oil and water’ category.

Trading for Rodgers also puts major pressure on Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni to win a championship in the next few seasons, and if it does not happen, his job could be on the line as well.

If the Eagles want to jump ship on their rebuilding process and feel they can win now with Rodgers and the rest of their squad as it’s currently constructed, it may be a good idea to deal those draft picks, but if they believe they aren’t ready to compete and can’t handle the baggage Rodgers might bring with him, they may want to stand pat.

Let’s be honest. Which scenario sounds more realistic?
