The 2021 NFL Draft is in the rearview now and with that comes some great additions to the Philadelphia Eagles roster. General manager Howie Roseman made a creative splash by trading back and collecting another first-round pick for 2022. Then, he traded back up to jump in front of a division rival, the New York Giants to select Heisman Trophy winner DeVonta Smith.

The three-day event would end with the Eagles selecting a great group of potential stars. One, in general, caught the attention of Birds fans everywhere.

When the Philadelphia Eagles selected pass-rusher Tarron Jackson out of Coastal Carolina in the sixth round, it wasn’t exactly the move Eagles fans were waiting with baited breathe for. How often do you really land a difference-maker that late in the draft?

Needless to say, fans and media alike haven’t given the selection much thought. Still, when you study the former Chant’s film, you see a player that has all the tools to be a star in the National Football League.

Imagining Tarron Jackson in the Philadelphia Eagles pass-rushing rotation.

The Eagles have a group of defensive linemen that put fear in the minds of opposing offenses. They’re led by Fletcher Cox, Brandon Graham, and the up-and-coming Josh Sweat. It is easy to see the potential in the Eagles’ pass rush.

While the Birds house some great players, they need to keep an eye on the future. That is where the selection of Tarron Jackson comes in handy.

The six-foot-two, 260-pound powerhouse has spent his college career being an absolute headache for an offensive lineman. His versatility is enough to get excited about as he can be used in a multitude of ways.

He is strong enough to play inside while terrorizing guards. It’s even scarier however to see him coming off the edge and attacking the quarterback. The Philadelphia Eagles lucked out on the third day of the draft by landing this young man.

Here is a quick scouting note Philadelphia Eagles fans might find interesting.

We at ITI had a quick conversation with a scouting source and asked him his thoughts on the addition of Jackson. While he did not want to be named he did have this to say:

They’re scheduled for a road date with the Saints. Let’s restate what we just said. Joe Douglas’ guys are lucky that they aren’t sending a bad roster into the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, one of the league’s most intense home-field advantages, with a rookie head coach and rookie quarterback to face a solid Saints team that’s led by one of the great coaching minds in the NFL.

He could easily be one of the more talented pass-rushers in this year’s NFL Draft. In a town desperate for talent, Jackson could be the perfect addition.
