The 2021 NFL Draft is over and done with, and with that comes the veteran rumor mill. It seems like every offseason we hear about one big-name football player after another. If you are the Philadelphia Eagles, you somehow hear your name rumored with every player being talked about. This year is no different with star receiver Julio Jones being mentioned as a possible trade option for the Birds.

General Manager Howie Roseman, did an excellent job adding talent to the Philadelphia Eagles offense, both in free agency (Kerryon Johnson) and in the 2021 NFL Draft (DeVonta Smith, Kenneth Gainwell, Landon Dickerson), but even with these additions, the Birds can’t be considered to be the NFC East favorites. While the roster looks a lot more formidable than they looked in 2020, they lack a weapon that strikes fear in an opponent’s heart. Here’s a plan for that.

The Philadelphia Eagles front office should consider a blockbuster move ASAP.

In order to be the dominant team that Philly’s fans clamor for, the Birds front office will have to find a way to add a dominant force to their offense. Not since Terrell Owens, DeSean Jackson, and LeSean McCoy has the Eagles offense had a game-changing presence at the skill positions on their roster. That should be the plan for Roseman and his merry men, using one of their future draft picks to help them find a difference-maker to boost the offensive unit.

This is easier said than done, but it doesn’t mean they shouldn’t try. After collecting multiple first-round picks, the Eagles have the capital to pull off, or at least get the attention of Atlanta’s front office. With the latest rumors stating the Atlanta Falcons and Julio Jones have reached a stalemate, the Eagles may have backed into finding a dancing partner.

A Philadelphia Eagles trade that could boost the offense immediately.

Okay, here’s the plan. The Atlanta Falcons send Julio Jones and a 2023 sixth-round pick to Philadelphia. In return, the Eagles send a 2022 first-round pick.

With all this in mind, we at ITI decided to put together a trade scenario that would help both sides. With that Atlanta Falcons wanting to (reportedly) get out of their contract with Julio, the Eagles (after finding a way to restructure the deal) would be the perfect trade partner to do so. This way they get what they want and the Eagles get a star wide receiver and leader in their locker room and a force to pair with DeVonta Smith.
