The Philadelphia Eagles desperately need some help at cornerback.

The Philadelphia Eagles may have had a productive offseason, but the hole at the second cornerback position is as glaring as ever. Darius Slay remains a solid first option, but more than one serviceable cornerback is a necessity in today’s pass-happy league.

The Eagles addressed the position in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL Draft, but throwing a rookie Zech McPhearson to the wolves isn’t a valid solution. The NFC East (and the NFL alike) is loaded with wide receiver talent and unfortunately, the Birds simply don’t have the cornerback talent to keep up.

Avonte Maddox’s five-foot-nine frame limits his upside as an outside cornerback and the Michael Jacquet experiment last year was unsuccessful, to say the least. The rest of the in-house options for the Eagles are just as inspiring.

The good news for Eagles fans is that there are still a handful of free agents that can aid this secondary. Signing a veteran cornerback to a one-year deal seems like the best available option. That being said, here are three affordable free agents that still have plenty of gas left in the tank.
