A notable cut and a few notes regarding these Philadelphia Eagles WRs.

CUT: J.J. Arcega-Whiteside

Throughout his career with the Philadelphia Eagles, it has been very clear that J.J. Arcega-Whiteside is the odd man out. He fails to create separation, struggles with drops, and has not lived up to expectations.

If Arcega-Whiteside does make the roster, he would likely be taking the spot of Hightower or Watkins. These two second-year players have flashed more potential and offer much more upside than the Stanford product, but the team may not be ready to give up.

The selection of J.J. Arcega-Whiteside will forever be one of those ‘what if’ moments for Howie Roseman. With a plethora of talent left on the board, Roseman and the rest of the front office chose to take a player that had four receptions in 2020.

If he does make the roster, it will be because of the input of the front office. It really is tough to warrant keeping a receiver that had 85 yards in a season that he was fully healthy in. We’ve seen enough of Arcega-Whiteside and it’d be unfair to give him a spot over a young guy that can actually contribute (i.e. John Hightower and Quez Watkins).

Youth is the name of the game for these Philadelphia Eagles wide receivers. While unproven and unpredictable, it will certainly be fun and exciting to see what these young guys have to offer.
