Philadelphia Eagles have no excuse for not contacting Steven Nelson
This is normally the point where Philadelphia Eagles fans start asking those other questions. You know, questions like what the heck is going on, and are we missing something? Is anyone else asking themselves why Steven Nelson isn’t on this team?
At the time of this story being written and published, the final weekend of June is underway, and July approaches. No one that self-identifies as a Birds fan is confident in what the Eagles might be forced to trot out on the field on the other side of Darius Slay in the CB2 position if Philadelphia had a game to play in a week.
Steven Nelson is still available if the Birds wanted to add him, and if they did, the day he walked into the NovaCare Complex, he’d be the second-best cover guy on the team. So, here’s a reasonable question. Why is a team that is obsessed with competition, one that seemingly hasn’t abandoned the win-now mentality ignoring him?
Again, is there something we don’t know about? Is there some information the Birds have that hasn’t been made available to the rest of us? What would it hurt to bring the guy in for a workout?
If any of you have a valid reason for why this team hasn’t contacted yet another talent that could upgrade this team, please let the rest of us know. In the meantime, here are two reasons why there’s no excuse for this team not contacting yet another NFL star that can help them win.
