How could the Philadelphia Eagles improve their roster next offseason?

The 2021 offseason is now at its end, but it’s never too early to look ahead to next year. The 2022 NFL offseason will prove to be just as important if not more so to the Philadelphia Eagles than the last one was. By then, Nick Sirianni will have a full NFL season under his belt.

He’ll look to further improve the team after his head coaching debut. Philly is expected to underperform by some and overachieve by others this season, but there will, no doubt, be room for improvement on both sides of the ball.

The Eagles have their issues with cap space, but they also have a few important impending free agents to make decisions about. They also have two first-round draft picks, with the potential for adding a third if Carson Wentz plays 75 percent of snaps for the Colts. They also have valuable players that may have trade value if the Birds need to move pieces around.

The Eagles, Jalen Hurts, and Nick Sirianni have a long way to go before they can call themselves Super Bowl contenders, and one of the ways to change the bottom-feeder moniker is to improve the roster, even if the changes seem like a small step in the process.

They have nine starters who are 30 plus. That includes Zach Ertz (if he’s still around), Brandon Brooks, Lane Johnson, Jason Kelce, Darius Slay, Rodney McLeod, Ryan Kerrigan, and Fletcher Cox), so they could use an infusion of youth on the offensive and defensive line. With that being said, here are two thoughts on the potential roster changes that could be made heading into next season.
