Philadelphia Eagles star TE Zach Ertz arrives at camp with new hair color
What a difference a few weeks and months make. It wasn’t that long ago that we all said any possibility of Zach Ertz being on the Philadelphia Eagles roster this season had to fall under the category of being impossible. We’ve discussed trade packages. We’ve gone back and forth about possible scenarios. In the end, cooler heads seemed to have prevailed.
There’s a statement for you, cooler heads. You can always expect a few surprises at camp, and on the first day of practice at the NovaCare Complex, the greatest tight end in the history of Philadelphia’s franchise arrived to begin his ninth season with, perhaps, the coolest haircut we’ve seen at an Eagles camp in a while.
Take a look.
Ladies and gentlemen, it’s official. We’ve officially re-written the definition of ‘cooler heads’.
The Philadelphia Eagles and Zach Ertz aren’t out of the woods yet.
As cool as all of this is. We aren’t out of the woods yet. The Philadelphia Eagles were never really in a position where they had to make an immediate decision on Zach Ertz’s future with the team. You’re well aware of what’s gone on with their salary cap constraints. Honoring an option in Zach’s deal meant he’s signed through the 2021 season.
Dallas Goedert is in a contract season as well, so if Ertz makes it through camp and, maybe, the next regular season, there will be tons to talk about as the top two tight ends on the Eagles’ depth chart will be in line for extensions.
Goedert is at the end of his rookie deal. We’re well aware that this might be the last ride for Ertz if he’s allowed to take it. Get ready. The Zach Ertz stories are just beginning. Still, regardless of what color his hair is, it’s good to see Number 86 back on the practice field.
