54. . . . Jason Croom. 81. player

Jason Croom might be the Philadelphia Eagles’ third tight end if Ertz left.

Anytime we reach this time of the year, there are always things that we can argue about, roster projections included, and that doesn’t exclude any position on the Philadelphia Eagles’ current training camp roster.

By now, most of you are probably of the opinion that Dallas Goedert may have passed Zach Ertz on the depth chart already, but we know those are the top two guys. Once you get past them, the debate begins. Who’s the third guy? Is it Richard Rodgers? He looked good in 2020 when he was called upon, but gosh he just looks like someone who got very old very quickly.

For that reason, Jason Croom is as good an option as anyone to place at that third spot on the depth chart. He’s clearly on a roster bubble, but you can argue that he deserves a spot. Equally as successful arguments can be made to suggest the contrary.

He was on the roster for four games for Birds in 2020. He caught one pass, but to his credit, it was a touchdown. He’s someone who’s definitely worth watching in camp. We’ll just need to determine if he makes sense as a third tight end or if he’s done enough to have us even consider him to be in that class.
