So much for taking the season off huh? Just in case you haven’t heard, here’s something to toss back and forth when you’re hanging out with some friends. Former Philadelphia Eagles head coach Doug Pederson was spotted recently in the Windy City aka Chicago, Illinois.

The only man on Planet Earth that can lay claim to winning a Super Bowl as the head coach of the Eagles popped up on a few radars as he attended Bears practice rocking a blue and orange coach’s polo. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, that would be the team colors of one Chicago Bears football team.

If you haven’t had a chance to see this one or you treat Doug Pederson sightings like you would treat the spotting of a UFO, here’s a photo that’s been floating around more than its fair share of social media circles.

Perhaps the worst part of that is he looks much happier than he did during his final campaign as the head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles during the 2020-2021 regular season.

The former Eagles head coach’s trip to Chicago makes a lot of sense.

Though it’s a little weird to see, no one should be shocked by a Doug Pederson cameo at a Bears practice. He and Chicago’s head coach, Matt Nagy, are close, and they’ve worked on two different coaching staffs together.

They were both on the Eagles staff from 2009-2012. Doug served as Philly’s offensive quality control coordinator in 2009 and 2010 before becoming the Eagles’ quarterbacks coach in 2011.

Matt Nagy was a coaching intern from 2008 to 2009 before becoming a coaching assistant in 2010 and Philadelphia’s offensive quality control coach from 2011 to 2012. Then, when Pederson bolted for Kansas City to become the Chiefs’ OC during the 2013 season, Nagy went with him and became K.C.’s quarterbacks coach. Nagy took over as the Chiefs’ OC when Doug took over as the Eagles head coach in 2016.

At the time of this story being written and published, no one’s stated what Doug Pederson’s role was other than John McMullen’s report that Pederson was attending practice “as a guest of Matt Nagy”. Still, it’s hard not to pay attention to things like this when they’re seen.

Maybe this leads to something. Maybe it won’t, but you can best believe that Philadelphia Eagles fans are paying attention. There’s the Nick Foles angle as well. Don’t be shocked if a reunion takes place between coacj=h and quarterback in Chi-Town.
