Let’s discuss winners and losers from the Philadelphia Eagles preseason game.

Well, that isn’t what we were expecting. The Philadelphia Eagles‘ starting offensive and defensive line sat out. Jalen Hurts was pulled, literally, right before kickoff, and an early turnover by Philly led to points for the New England Patriots just two plays later. It only went downhill from there.

Philly took some major body shots over the course of four quarters before they were eventually knocked to the canvas. Once the time ran out on a game that was excruciatingly painful to watch, the result was a 35-0 loss that ultimately won’t have any bearing on the Eagles’ season but isn’t any less painful.

This one felt like two losses. The defense was pathetic at times. The offense was worse. The Eagles, after leaving the practice field on consecutive days and feeling good about what they had done versus the Pats, laid an egg in an actual game once the lights were turned on at Lincoln Financial Field.

There’s no time to stew or shed tears over this one. One more preseason game remains. The Philadelphia Eagles travel to face the New York Jets at a familiar venue, MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, but here’s one last look at a game that fans had higher expectations for.

Here are five winners and losers from the Eagles’ second preseason game. Yes, it was possible to find five winners. It was actually easier than you think.
