Philadelphia Eagles: Young UTR Birds poised for breakout seasons
Is Quez Watkins the Philadelphia Eagles’ next star receiver?
No Philadelphia Eagles player has gotten the hype that receiver Quez Watkins, has gotten over the past few weeks. In what seems like an unstoppable media train, Watkins has been in talks as one of if not the best wideout in training camp.
Despite the obvious development to the former Southern Miss star, the fact of the matter is Watkins has only caught one pass in the preseason. That may not mean anything as the offense as a whole has been ugly to look at, yet with all the hype surrounding the second-year prospect, much is expected of him. He should deliver.
Oh, and by the way, his one catch doubled as the Eagles’ only touchdown reception of the first two preseason games.
While Quez Watkins has all the tools to be a legit game-changer in the National Football League, he will need to continue to make plays and stack better days. The hype is nice and all but the Philadelphia Eagles fans want results.
The final game of the preseason will be huge for the 2020 sixth-round pick. If he can show even the slightest of progression against the Jets, it could give the Eagles coaching staff the warm and fuzzies they need to play him more, and once they turn him loose in the regular season, watch out.
