Philadelphia Eagles roster projection ahead of final cuts deadline
Don’t expect a ton of surprises during the Philadelphia Eagles’ final roster cuts.
Well, we’ve debated all Spring and Summer about pretty much everything that relates to the Philadelphia Eagles. It wouldn’t be the offseason if that wasn’t the case. Thank a new coaching staff and a 4-11-1 record in 2020 for some of that.
Here’s some of what’s been tossed around. Is Jalen Hurts a legitimate starter and long-term option for this offense? Was Deshaun Watson ever someone that Philly was considering? Was he even interested in coming here?
Is this defense going to be able to stop someone and create additional opportunities for the Eagles’ offense by creating turnovers? Can the offensive line stay healthy? Why is Jordan Mailata so much better than Andre Dillard? That isn’t how that was supposed to work out.
Philadelphia enters the 2021 regular-season campaign with more questions than answers, but before any of this is ironed out, there’s one more thing that needs to happen. Philly must trim their preseason roster to a league-mandated 53-man version. We’ve seen surprises in the past. There probably won’t be many this time around.
Here’s what the Philadelphia Eagles figure to look like when the dust clears and the smoke settles.
