Philadelphia Eagles: 6 Recently waived WRs who should interest this team
The Philadelphia Eagles have five WRs and could add another.
There’s one constant that we can all rely on, and that’s change. That’s true in life. That’s true in the NFL. Last season, Travis Fulgham led the Philadelphia Eagles in receiving yards with 539. One year later, he isn’t even on the team’s roster.
Fulgham was a part of final cuts as Philly trimmed their roster to the league-mandated 53-man version. Once everything was settled, the Eagles had held onto five prospects at the position.
Three were seen as being roster locks all Spring and Summer (DeVonta Smith, Jalen Reagor, and Quez Watkins). There’s been a mixed reaction about one’s inclusion, even though he’s clearly the fourth-best wide receiver on Philly’s roster at the moment (Greg Ward). The fifth guy is someone no one wants to be here (JJ Arcega-Whiteside).
Now, come on. How many of you had JJAW beating out Fulgham for a roster spot a few months ago?
Two immediate questions come to mind. Philly’s only got five wide receivers? Should they give some thought to bringing in a veteran (Ward is the elder statesman now). The answer to both questions is yes. With that being said, here are six wide receivers that could interest the Birds as teams begin adding players from the waiver wire.
