The Philadelphia Eagles may finally have some consistent contributors.

The Philadelphia Eagles, even during their Super Bowl run, have not had a receiver amass one thousand receiving yards or more since Jeremy Maclin did so back in 2014. That was six seasons ago.

Let that sink in.

The Birds have had some receivers come close, but have not had a consistent pair of receivers, let alone one consistent receiver in a very long time. That trend may finally change in 2021.

The Eagles may have finally found a wide receiver duo that can produce big results for them now and in the future. One of those names comes as no surprise, a former Heisman Trophy winner and the Eagles 2021 first-round draft pick, DeVonta Smith.

Smith, who tallied over 1800 yards with the University of Alabama during his senior year, has reached that plateau twice. His preseason outing was shaky, but once he settled in, his hands, route running, and ability to separate made those few drops all but disappeared.

The next receiver to make Philly fans excited was one that not many saw coming, and it may be because of his speed. Yes, we are talking about the Eagles’ 2020 sixth-round draft pick, Quez Watkins, whose 40-yard dash time was 4.27 seconds (second fastest in the NFL Draft), has done nothing but be an absolute head turner throughout training camp and preseason.
