For two sets of birds, the 2021 NFL regular season features an interesting game at Mercedes Benz Stadium on September 12th that features the Philadelphia Eagles and Atlanta Falcons. These two proud franchises don’t play each other enough to call one another rivals, but when they link up, the games are pretty intense.
Philly leads the all-time series by a 20-15-1 margin, but they lost the most recent meeting in 2019 after winning three straight. That includes a Divisional Round win in 2018 that led to the Eagles’ first Super Bowl win.
This one doubles as the debut for fellow top-ten 2021 NFL draftees, Kyle Pitts (fourth-overall) and DeVonta Smith (Philly’s pick at number ten). It will be interesting to see both on the field at the same time.
Make no mistake about it. Eagles fans are thrilled that Smith will wear the number 6 jersey for Philadelphia, but it wasn’t that long ago that much of this team’s fan base and the media wanted Pitts.
