The Philadelphia Eagles soar to victory over the Atlanta Falcons.

The Philadelphia Eagles were able to seal their first game of the 2021 season in victory. They dominated the Atlanta Falcons, winning modestly 31-6. Here’s a fun fact for Birds fans. The Eagles didn’t put up 30 points once last season, so it was nice to see that final score.

There were some lows of this game, but the high points completely outweighed them. Now that doesn’t exactly mean there are still not some concerns to have from this outing, but overall it was a very successful first game for first-year head coach, Nick Sirianni.

After a fast start from both teams, the pace of the game slowed. Once the second quarter had started, the Eagles made their stand on both offense and defense and neither looked back until the clock struck triple zero. The defense had a very shaky start, especially in run defense, but quickly adjusted to the Falcons offensive scheme and held them to only two field goals.

The offense had more of an up and down performance, but once they were rolling they were able to easily put up points on the board. A lot of things to be excited about from this game, even if there are still concerns. Wide receiver DeVonta Smith had a great first game.

Both Quez Watkins and Jalen Reagor’s speed were on display, and overall the rushing pair of running backs Miles Sanders and Kenny Gainwell produced solid numbers.

The defensive side of the ball, as stated earlier, started out extremely shaky. However once they finally settled in, the schemes put in place by defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon, and the overwhelming power of that defensive line surely made their mark. So with that all being said, let’s hand out some game balls.
