4 Philadelphia Eagles whose stock should be sold immediately
Philadelphia Eagles offensive tackle Andre Dillard
Raise your hand if you forget that Andre Dillard is on the team sometimes. Following one full rookie season, a sophomore campaign that was erased due to injury, and two games of a third season, Mr. Dillard’s young NFL career has taken a turn.
This young man has gone from being the heir to Jason Peters to becoming Jordan Mailata’s backup. How on Planet Earth did we get here?
Say what you want. Maybe Andre Dillard is a little sensitive. Some may say that he’s soft. Maybe Jordan Mailata is just better and always has been. The fact of the matter is this though. If Dillard isn’t good enough to start. Who’s to say that he’s good enough to produce if he’s forced into action in the case that, Heaven-forbid, Jordan Mailata sustains an injury?
Sometimes, being right is more important to the Philadelphia Eagles than winning. That’s why JJ Arcega-Whiteside is here and why guys like Peters and Carson Wentz have stayed on the field and on this team too long.
Dillard might be one of the better trade pieces that Philly has, but if they’re looking to make a move, something that might be a wise option, they’re never going to get more for him than they will right now. They waited too long to trade Derek Barnett. This may be an opportunity to avoid making a similar mistake with guys like Alshon Jeffery, Nelson Agholor, and their young left tackle.
