Jalen Hurts is a Week 4 Fantasy football must have, per experts
Don’t look now, but Jalen Hurts is turning heads with some of Fantasy football’s best writers and owners. Somewhere, there are Philadelphia Eagles fans who are scratching their heads, so let’s back up here for a few seconds.
First of all, as 94 WIP-FM’s Joe Giglio detailed very eloquently on September’s final day, whether you’ve joined the ‘run Hurts out of town train’ or not, there’s some thought to be given about whether or not QB1’s struggles are of his own doing or the failures of a coaching staff that has only put him into position to be successful once, during Philly’s opening weekend victory versus the Atlanta Falcons.
Then again, to be fair, Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni could be handcuffed from doing some things that he wants to do because of some things that Hurts can’t do. Still, regardless of where you are in that argument, you don’t support a quarterback that’s making his seventh career start (on the road nonetheless) by only allowing his running backs to tote the rock a grand total of three times.
Hurts was bad though, really bad, but here’s where the rubber meets the road, he’s still putting up numbers, and that has Fantasy owners salivating over him in Week 4.
Jalen Hurts is a Fantasy darling as we head towards Week 4.
Fans are on opposite sides about whether or not this Eagles team can win long-term with Jalen Hurts in the lineup, but Philly’s QB1 is a must-have and must start in Week 4 according to the Fantasy experts.
Here’s some insight from CBS Sports Fantasy wiz Jamey Eisenberg.
"Despite some inconsistent games from him the past two weeks against San Francisco and Dallas, he’s still scored at least 21 Fantasy points in each outing. His rushing has been solid with at least 35 yards on the ground in each game, and he’s averaging 59.7 rushing yards per game for the year. He also passed for 326 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions at Dallas, with plenty of production in garbage time, and that could be the case again this week against the Chiefs."
Here’s more from NFL.com’s Adam Rank. Like, Eisenberg, he believes Fantasy owners definitely want to have Hurts in their Week 4 Fantasy lineup.
"The Eagles were dominated on Monday night, and you know what, Jalen still had a pretty good fantasy day despite the two picks. He also said the right things in the postgame pressers, so I’m fine rolling with him again. The Chiefs have been one of the worst teams against the pass this season, which is kind of a surprise. I do expect them to turn it around at some point. Maybe it’s even this week. But if you’ve been playing Jalen, you need to stick with him. I honestly expect him to be a bit better, too. I mean, I don’t know what in the name of Matt Nagy the Eagles were doing on Monday night. Why aren’t these coaches rolling out these young quarterbacks?"
If you’re watching QB1 live on television, sure, anyone can see why you’re upset. If you’re trying to win in your Fantasy football leagues this week, it’s always wise to tune an ear towards what the experts are saying.
They say Jalen Hurts is someone that you want to stick with. These guys have developed a history of being good at this sort of thing. Then again, from an Xs and Os standpoint, what they’re saying makes sense. You’ve seen the Kansas City Chiefs play defense. Rolling with Hurts may not be a bad idea after all.
