Philadelphia Eagles need a heavy dose of running plays.

Eagles fan watching last week’s game against the Dallas Cowboys felt like Sandra Bullock’s character Leigh Anne Tuohy in The Blindside. Remember when she called down from the stands and screamed for the coach to “RUN THE DANG BALL”? Well, that’s how every Eagles fan felt when they watched things go from good to worse in Arlington.

It’s a new week. Here’s another team’s defense that has a problem stopping the run. Might Philly do so this time?

The Chiefs defense has struggled to stop the run in recent years. This season, they can’t get off of the field at all. The Chiefs have given up the NFL’s second-most rushing yards this season with 481. They’ve also given up a league-leading seven touchdowns.

With all that being said, running the ball should be a heavy part of the Eagles’ game plan. Miles Sanders should hit double digits in rushing attempts. Kenneth Gainwell should be given a nice workload too.

The running game will do two things for Philadelphia. It will keep that clock ticking, which means less time for Mahomes and company to score. The second thing it will do is help open up the passing attack. Jalen Hurts should be able to find more open targets with the defense being so concerned about the run if Philly is successful with their rushing attack.
