Philadelphia Eagles: 4 Sub-radar draft targets who can replace Jalen Hurts
So, what if the Philadelphia Eagles still aren’t sold on Jalen Hurts?
One month of the 2021-2022 NFL season is behind us (that was quick). Debate continues to rage about who Jalen Hurts is and whether or not he should lead the Philadelphia Eagles on offense for the foreseeable future.
His deficiencies have been discussed often. He locks onto receivers from time to time, and defenders can see it. His deep ball is 50/50 but, more often than not, questionable. He misses open guys, both in the pass pattern and when he sees them and throws the ball in their direction.
There are also things about Hurts’ game that can get you really excited if you’ve been paying attention. He doesn’t make crazy decisions with the football that put his team in jeopardy. His completion percentage has improved and he has a passer rating of over 100.
As you know, the Eagles may wind up with three first-round draft choices in the 2022 NFL Draft. The problem is Howie Roseman is still employed here and will have a lot to do with the process, but that’s another story for another day.
What if Philly does move on from Hurts? One can argue that next year’s draft isn’t as rich with talent at the quarterback position as the most recent was, but there are some options (Matt Corral, Spencer Rattler, Sam Howell).
There are some under-the-radar guys who are also interesting. That’s who we’ll focus on here. If the Philadelphia Eagles dig a little deeper, there are some options if they turn over a few stones. What follows is four guys who fall in that category.
