The Philadelphia Eagles lose their third straight game in Week 4

An enormous ask of the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 4 from this fanbase was simple. Just do better, and for the most part (primarily the offense), they did. This game was always a big question mark, and that would have been the case had the Eagles entered the game at 3-0.

Still, as it had over the past few weeks, self-inflicted wounds cost them in this game.

The Birds came into this one with a game plan and primarily stuck to it. After an extremely promising first drive, the Eagles stalled and Philly kicked a field goal. The Chiefs marched down the field for a touchdown. The Birds answered with a touchdown of their own. From there, the Eagles’ offense stalled as they were only able to put up three more points while the defense gave up two more touchdowns. 21-13 was the halftime score.

The second half produced the Eagles’ first interception of the season. Unfortunately, through a series of penalties and some questionable officiating, three points was the result of that drive. The Birds’ defense allowed Patrick Mahomes and company another touchdown, extending the lead, ending the third quarter 28 to 16.

The penalities continued throughout the 4th quarter, adding in some blown coverage schemes; the Chiefs could run away with the game and secure the victory. Obviously, it wasn’t the outcome fans wanted, but this team hung in and fought as hard as possible. So with all the being said, let’s get into the good, bad, and ugly of this Week 4 loss.
