The Philadelphia Eagles offense has a difficult task ahead.

The Philadelphia Eagles head to Charlotte for Week 5, and Shane Steichen and the offense have a lot on their plate. Carolina Panthers Defensive Coordinator Phil Snow will lead a potent unit into battle this Sunday.

Despite a poor showing against a high-powered Dallas Cowboys offense last week, Carolina’s defense has been one of the most dominant forces in the league this season. They’re still ranked third in the entire NFL.

Offseason additions have opened up the playbook for Snow. Carolina added Jaycee Horn in Round 1 of the most recent draft, who our staff at ITI ranked at the top of its list of pre-draft prospects at the cornerback position. The Panthers also scored with the additions of Haason Reddick, Morgan Fox, Daquan Jones, and A.J. Bouye.

Horn is, unfortunately for the Panthers, expected to be out for two to three months with a broken foot. The Panthers decided to fill that void by trading for 2020 first-round pick C.J. Henderson and two-time first-team all-pro Stephon Gillmore.

Did we mention that they also have 2019 first-round pick Brian Burns along with 2020 draft picks Derrick Brown and Jeremy Chinn? Oh, and Shaq Thompson has been playing some of his best football to start this season. Thompson may not play this week but the rest of the defense should help fill the void.

It’s safe to say that that defense is full of athletes that can fly across the field and swarm to the ball. Here are a few reasons why that presents a problem for the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 5.
