Philadelphia Eagles that need to shine versus Buccaneers in Week 6
The Philadelphia Eagles young offense needs to take advantage of Tampa Bay’s weaknesses
1. Jalen Hurts, Quarterback.
This is an obvious one, but the Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has to have the performance of a lifetime to keep pace with the Buccaneers. Hurts, so far this season, has had a bad habit of leaving big plays on the field that would’ve kept drives alive or ended in points. This can’t happen in Week 6. Tampa Bay’s defense has not been stellar as of late, especially in their secondary.
The Buccaneers secondary currently ranks last in pass yards allowed per game, and that is something that both head coach Nick Sirianni and Hurts have to take advantage of. It is a tough task to ask of a young quarterback, but Hurts will have to put on the best performance of his life to be able even to come close to a victory.
2. Quez Watkins, Receiver.
It’s baffling that the Eagles have been hesitant in getting wide receiver Quez Watkins involved in intermediate throws. We all have seen his big-play potential, but Watkins can very easily be just as fierce of a receiver in the short game as well.
With his speed, Watkins has bailed this team out a few different times this season, and he will have to do it again, maybe more than once, in Week 6.
3. Miles Sanders, Running back.
There has been a lot of frustration amongst the Philly fan base with the lack of usage with running back Miles Sanders, and rightfully so. However, when he has been given the ball, he looks like a shell of his former self.
He bounces to the outside when he should hit the run gaps. He tries to hit the gaps when he should’ve bounced to the outside. This may do to his own frustrations, but he needs to get over it. With a ball in his hands, Sanders is one of the most dangerous players in space.
