The Philadelphia Eagles lose a close one to the Buccaneers.

It sure took them long enough to get going. What a game the Philadelphia Eagles‘ tilt versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers turned out to be though huh? A loss is a loss. We all know that, and everyone is sick of hearing about how close this team is. Still, there were some things to be encouraged by.

Unfortunately, there are far more things to be concerned about.

Despite what felt like a quick start, the long offensive droughts are still an issue. The defense is spending too much time on the field. Andre Dillard took a step backward, but if you would have told any Eagles fan that Philly would have a shot to win this one late in the fourth quarter, they definitely would have definitely signed up to see that.

So, how do we view this one? Is Philly improving? Are they on their way? After all, they did trade punches with the champs. That won’t be sufficient comfort for the Birds or their fans though. The result was what we expected, an Eagles loss, but they fought until the end, and that has to count for something.

The growing pains continue. History was made as Tom Brady threw his first-ever interception at Lincoln Financial Field, but he made the plays when he needed to. Tampa takes this one by a 28-22 margin. Next up is a road game versus the Las Vegas Raiders. In the meantime, here are the studs and duds from Week 6’s loss.
