Philadelphia Eagles draft: Ranking potential replacements for Zach Ertz
What a difference a week or even a few days makes. Prior to the Philadelphia Eagles‘ game versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 6, Zach Ertz was named a team captain prior to what wound up being his final game as a member of the Eagles. He now joins his former teammate Jordan Hicks in Arizona with the Cardinals.
Hicks is hurt and may not return this season, but you get the idea. How about that guy? He’s never been able to stay healthy, has he?
It’s Dallas Goedert’s show now, but he’ll need some help. Philly has some young guys at the position like Jack Stoll, Jason Croom, and Tyree Jackson when those last two return from the injured reserve. Don’t forget about Noah Togiai either.
Still, with so many draft picks, no one should be surprised if the Birds invest some draft capital into the tight end position. Believe it or not, they may screw up more than their fair share of quite a few positions more often than not, but they’ve drafted tight ends fairly well. Think the aforementioned Ertz and Goedert as well as guys like L.J. Smith and Brent Celek. They even found an undrafted diamond in Chad Lewis in 1997.
Could one of these guys be the next in line as Philly’s next franchise legend at the position? Here are ten potential prospects that the Eagles could draft to take Zach Ertz’s position next season.
