Philadelphia Eagles potential draft targets: Daniel Barker, Illinois

Daniel Barker is living the life that so many tight ends live at the collegiate level. He’s largely forgotten about and asked to block so many of his teammates can benefit from the opportunity to shine by getting the majority of the targets.

Perhaps the Illini should rethink that strategy as Barker has shown he’s a good red-zone target, scoring three touchdowns on his first nine receptions the season, which probably means he’d make an equally reliable target on third down.

We don’t know that for certain because Illinois won’t throw him the ball, and that’s surprising because head coach Brett Bielema has developed some quality tight ends at some of his previous coaching gigs.

Philadelphia Eagles potential draft targets: Trey McBride, Colorado State

Trey McBride is interesting. He’s a six-foot-four, 260-pound prospect that runs routes well, has nice hands, and has no shortage of quickness.

If he has a strong close to the NCAA season and gets an invite to the Senior Bowl, he could turn some heads. He racked up 42 receptions, 458 yards, and a touchdown over the course of Colorado State’s first five games.
