The Philadelphia Eagles wouldn’t trade Fletcher Cox, or would they?

From a short week to a ten-day stretch between games, by the time the Philadelphia Eagles take the field at Allegiant Stadium a.k.a The Death Star to battle the Las Vegas Raiders, it will feel like a month since the last time we’ve seen the Birds in action.

They’re smack dab in a stretch of tough games, and with the trade deadline approaching, one has to wonder if any moves might be made to strengthen a team that doesn’t seem like it has bought into the ‘wait until next year’ approach.

Now, when we say the words ‘trade deadline’, most are looking for action. No one’s referencing anything like what we saw with Genard Avery’s addition in 2019 or the snoozer that we all got to experience a little over 12 months ago.

Philly has already made headlines by trading longtime legend and fan-favorite Zach Ertz. He represented the second-highest salary on Philadelphia’s books. Fletcher Cox tops the list as he represents a $12.7 million cap hit and $37 million in cap space. Sadly, he’s regressed.

The Philadelphia Eagles could improve their financial standing by simply moving him elsewhere. The questions are as follows. One, would they do that? Second, where would they send him if they did?

No one really has the answer to either question, but here’s what we can tell you. If the Birds are looking to shop Fletcher Cox, there will be buyers depending on the asking price. Here are a few teams that could be interested parties if Philly decides that this is a move worth making.
