Philadelphia Eagles announce intriguing roster moves ahead of Week 7
The City of Brotherly Love could use some good news right now don’t you think? With all of the Ben Simmons drama and on the heels of another disappointing finish to the Phillies’ season, things would still feel comfortable if the Philadelphia Eagles were winning. Just about everyone in the Delaware Valley knows how that’s going, however.
The Birds are 2-4 after six weeks, and by the looks of things, it’s going to get a little darker before we reach dawn.
A little good news of any sort would help things along though, and it appears that we got a little on a Wednesday leading up to Week 7’s game versus the Las Vegas Raiders. Philly shuffles the roster again, and it appears we may be closer to seeing someone that everyone is excited about.
The Philadelphia Eagles activate practice windows for Wallace and Jackson.
On October 20th, shortly before lunchtime on the East Coast, the Eagles announced a few roster moves, all of which are interesting. They’ve signed a familiar face, tight end Richard Rodgers, to the practice squad. They’ve released offensive tackle Casey Tucker from the practice squad in a subsequent move.
They’ve also announced that they’ve activated 21-day practice windows for tight end Tyree Jackson (someone that everyone who follows this team wants to see) and safety K’Von Wallace. Now, here’s why that’s important.
Prior to that decision, Philadelphia had six names listed on their injured reserve (Wallace, Jackson, Brandon Brooks, Brandon Graham, Isaac Seumalo, and Jason Croom). By activating those practice windows for Wallace and Jackson two things must be noted.
One, the Eagles can elevate Wallace and Jackson to the active roster at any time during the next three weeks, and second, if they don’t, K’Von and Tyree return to the injured reserve for the remainder of the season. It’s hard to imagine that they would have activated either man this early had they believed they wouldn’t be elevating them soon.
This follows Philly’s announcement that they had made the decision on Tuesday to protect the following practice squad players: offensive tackle Le’Raven Clark, wide receiver John Hightower, defensive back Elijah Riley, and tight end Noah Togiai.
