Dallas Goedert activated from the Philadelphia Eagles COVID-19 list

Ahead of the Philadelphia Eagles‘ Week 7 matchup with the Las Vegas Raiders, they got some good news about one of their best players. They announced, via Chris McPherson on their official team website, that they’re activating Dallas Goedert from the Reserve/COVID-19 list.

As most of you know, every team’s Reserve/COVID-19 list is set up to house those members of the roster who have either contracted coronavirus or come into contact with someone who has.

Goedert landed on the COVID list last Tuesday and needed two consecutive negative tests within a 24-hour period to be deemed eligible to play versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 6 on Thursday Night Football. That didn’t happen, and despite an admirable farewell performance by Zach Ertz in his final game as an Eagle (Ertz caught four of six targets and scored a touchdown), Goedert’s absence was very noticeable.

Expect Dallas Goedert to play in Week 7 versus the Las Vegas Raiders.

Ertz is an Eagles legend, but even before his departure, it was obvious that Philly’s best tight end now is Goedert. So far in 2021, he’s hauled in 15 of 19 targets. The result has been 216 receiving yards and two trips to the end zone.

His return is right on time as Philly is scheduled for a game in Las Vegas versus the Raiders. Believe it or not, they’re tied for the AFC West’s lead with the Los Angeles Chargers. How many of you expected that would be the case six weeks into the season?

Goedert has evolved into becoming the most reliable target for Jalen Hurts. QB1 needs to target him more. His coaches need to call more plays in which he’s the primary receiver. If they do that and stick with the running game, Week 7 could end with another checkmark in the win column for Philadelphia.
