We can assume what some of the Philadelphia Eagles’ roster turnover will look like.

Change is constant in the NFL. We’ve known that for quite some time. Rules change. The players on the Philadelphia Eagles roster and the players on the rosters of the other 31 NFL teams change. The league’s approach to business changes.

Just look at what’s happened over the past two seasons. We’ve seen an additional team added to the playoff brackets in the AFC and NFC. We’ve also seen a 17th game added to the regular-season schedule for every team.

Here’s what hasn’t changed. Teams need good players on their rosters if they want to win, and thanks to a league where there’s an annual draft, a free-agency period, and a trade deadline, player turnover will be constant.

Sadly, those tools are all available to the Philadelphia Eagles, and they’ve failed at using them. They don’t sign the right players. They don’t draft well. They mismanage contracts, so guys come and go. The question now is how many of the guys on the current roster should be a part of this team’s long-term plans?

The Philadelphia Eagles’ 2021 regular season isn’t helping us make fair statements about player progression and how guys are developing. Most of this team’s players have been crippled by bad coaching, being put in bad positions, or both.

Still, player turnover happens after every single season that professional football is played, and if we were forced to guess, we’d assume that the names that follow belong to five Birds that won’t be back in 2022. Feel free to add any others that you feel qualify.

No, Howie Roseman, Jonathan Gannon, and Nick Sirianni aren’t on the list.
