Have you heard? The Eagles may have three first-round picks in 2022.

What a pickle Philadelphia Eagles fans are in. They may have three first-round picks in the 2022 NFL Draft, but no one trusts the general manager (Howie Roseman) to do the right thing and make the correct choices. Then, there’s Carson Wentz. Remember him?

Here’s why we say Philadelphia ‘may’ have three first-rounders. He plays for the Indianapolis Colts now, but the Eagles fans are still forced to cheer for him, or at least cheer for the prospect of him staying healthy. He represents a conditional second-round draft choice that the Eagles earned by shipping him off to Indy.

If he plays enough and doesn’t get hurt, that second-rounder becomes the third first-round draft choice, and what the Eagles do with them could set this team up for success moving forward. What if Philly drafts three future Hall-of Famers? Can you imagine the buzz for the next ten years?

Heading into the 2021 NFL Draft, the Philadelphia Eagles finally figured something out. If they want to nail more of these draft picks that they’ve been missing on, it would probably be wise to start shopping for talent in what’s college football’s best conference for producing NFL talent, the SEC. Drafting guys that played for Alabama can be fruitful as well as they’ve become a farm system for the NFL.

Philly’s first two picks were both members of The Tide, DeVonta Smith and Landon Dickerson. There have been growing pains, but both guys are special. The plan for 2022’s selection meeting is nowhere close to being developed yet, but here’s what we do know.

If the Birds wind up with three of the first 15 draft choices, a very real possibility, there’s an abundance of talent for them to choose from. Here are five guys that could tickle their fancy and wind up among the newest flock of Birds to usher this team into the future.
