Eagles versus Lions Week 8 prop bets

Bet No. 1

  • Jalen Hurts Total Rushing Yards (Over 47.5) -115

According to the oddsmakers at WynnBET, the over/under on Jalen Hurts‘ rushing yards total is set at 47.5 with -115 odds while Kenneth Gainwell‘s rushing yards over/under total is set at 31.5. Taking the over on Gainwell feels like an exercise in futility as all it will take is a few rushing attempts in which he gets stopped at the line to force Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni to abandon the running game early.

We won’t even get into what happens if the Lions get out to an early lead. There’s been no creativity with this Eagles offense. There’s no motion. There are few designed running plays (read/pass options don’t count, and if Hurts struggles early or late, the expectation is that he’ll rely on what he’s most comfortable doing, tucking the ball and running.

More often than not, the best running play in the Eagles’ playbook has involved Hurts being the guy charged with carrying the rock. With Miles Sanders on the shelf, that again figures to be a common theme in Week 8.
