The Philadelphia Eagles show life after steamrolling the Lions in Week 8

Following the doubt that surrounded this Philadelphia Eagles team, they were able to leave the Motor City victorious after crushing the Detroit Lions by a final score of 44-6. A lot of questions were answered in this game from both the offense and the defense.

If you missed the victory, here’s a brief recap. The Lions won the coin toss and chose to receive rather than defer. A strong-looking drive ended with the Birds’ defense forcing a punt. The Eagles’ first offensive drive started rocky with a dropped pass from DeVonta Smith, and that led to a three and out for the Iggles.

Detroit’s next drive is what kick-started the Eagles’ defensive dominance. They were forced to punt once again. Philadelphia established the ground game and found themselves in the endzone thanks to a Boston Scott touchdown. The rest, as they say, was history.

The Eagles, for the remainder of the game, completely demoralized the Lions on both defense and offense.

Though Detroit is not a great team by any means, this was a dominant performance, one that no other team the Lions faced yet this season has been able to deliver. Fans were shown by the players and coaching staff that this team still has a pulse. Alright! It’s time to hand out some game balls.
