Well, the Denver Broncos have been sellers at the NFL trade deadline, haven’t they? They’ve had quite the week. After edging one of the Philadelphia Eagles‘ bitter rivals, the Washington Football Team, on Halloween, they traded future Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee, Von Miller, to the Los Angeles Rams. One day later, they struck a deal with the Birds, sending rookie cornerback Kary Vincent Jr. to the City of Brotherly Love in exchange for a sixth-round draft choice.

Perhaps they have already accepted the fact that 2021 will be a season for retooling and rebuilding? Either way, whether they have or they haven’t, we’ve learned two things as the 4 p.m. EST hour on the East Coast has come and gone meaning teams won’t be able to make trades again until the offseason..

The first thing that we learned was this. Fletcher Cox is here to stay. Secondly, Philadelphia won’t have to worry about Von Miller when these two teams meet on November 14th at Empower Field at Mile High for Week 10 of the regular season.

Before we start gearing up for that one, however, let’s introduce some of you to the Eagles’ newest member of the cornerback room.

Here are three fun facts on Kary Vincent Jr.

1. Many of you have been following this young man for a while. You’ve definitely been following his teammates.

If Kary Vincent’s name sounds familiar, don’t be shocked. He was a part of that star-studded 2019 LSU Tigers team that won the College Football Playoff National Championship. Several of his teammates are some of the NFL’s bright young stars, including Patrick Queen, Kristian Fulton, Ja’Marr Chase, Joe Burrow, and Justin Jefferson.

It’s been a while since we’ve seen him. He sat out of the 2020 season due to COVID-19 concerns. Some say that damaged his draft stock. The Dever Broncos took him in the seventh round of the most recent draft anyway, but some believe that he would have gone higher had he played as a senior.

He has yet to play a defensive snap at the professional level, but at LSU, he racked up 87 tackles, a sack, and six interceptions over the course of 32 career games.

2. Vincent Jr. comes from a nice football pedigree.

Kary Vincent Jr. is the son of Kary Vincent who played NCAA football at Texas A&M before transitioning to the Arena Football League. His father passed away in 2018.

3. Speed isn’t an issue here.

The five-foot-ten, 185-pound Vincent won’t have any issues with keeping up with some of the NFL’s speedsters. A burner himself, he was also a sprinter on LSU’s track team. In 2019, he competed at the 2019 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships, representing the Tigers nicely as a member of the 4 by 100-meter relay team.
