The Philadelphia Eagles offense has a lot of room for improvement in Week 9.

We’ve seen this from the Philadelphia Eagles before. Go out and find the next offensive genius in areas where other teams may not be looking. Buddy Ryan and Ray Rhodes were obviously hired out of a desire to make this team one of the bullies on the block, and that’s exactly what Birds fans wanted to see in each of those situations, but five of Philly’s last seven coaching hires were made with the offense in mind.

There was Rich Kotite. That sure didn’t work, but you get the idea. Andy Reid and Chip Kelly were obviously hired with the offense in mind as were Doug Pederson and Nick Sirianni. Sure, there are the theories that those two might have been who the Eagles winded up with and not who they actually wanted, but Pederson was a Doug Pederson disciple that had Big Red’s blessing.

That brings us to Sirianni, the man who ‘wowed’ Jeffrey Lurie and Howie Roseman in his interview. How has the offense looked under his watch? Well, let’s just say the results haven’t always been the most positive, but in a couple of instances, we’ve seen blocks on which the Birds can build on.

Eight games are gone. Nine remain. Here are grades for each position group after eight weeks.
