For the Philadelphia Eagles, Jalen Hurts’ evaluation continues.

We all knew that the 2021-2022 regular season would be a year-long evaluation of Jalen Hurts‘ readiness to take over as the Philadelphia Eagles’ franchise signal-caller. Eight games later, for most of us, the analysis of where he is hasn’t changed.

We knew that he was a skilled runner of the football. We know that the offenses that he was the leader of had tendencies, whether that be in Philadelphia, with the Alabama Crimson Tide, or as a member of the Oklahoma Sooners, to go on these sustained droughts where there wasn’t much that was going on. There are only so many times that we can discuss his inaccuracy issues.

Jalen Hurts has everything that a player needs to be one of the NFL’s all-time greats if we’re evaluating what’s going on between his ears. The questions that we have about Jalen Hurts stem from our concern about whether he can go throw for throw with the game’s elite quarterbacks and if he can complete passes on third and long to sustain drives.

The evaluation continues. Joe Flacco is gone, and the only glimpses we’ve had of Gardner Minshew came when Week 8’s game had already been decided. Grade: C
