5 Philadelphia Eagles trending up heading into Week 9 versus Chargers
Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Davion Taylor should see an increase in snaps.
Just under seven months from the day that he was signed to a one-year deal, Eric Wilson‘s run with the Philadelphia Eagles is officially over. Philly now has six linebackers on the active roster since Wilson is gone. Here’s the list: Genard Avery, Davion Taylor, Shaun Bradley, Alex Singleton, T.J Edwards, and Patrick Johnson.
Johnson has played three defensive snaps over the past five weeks (and none in weeks 4, 5, and 7) after being on the field for 48 defensive snaps during the first three games.
Shaun Bradley has gotten no work either. His 16-snap performance versus Detroit came primarily in garbage time. He played nine defensive snaps versus the Atlanta Falcons in the opener and another three versus the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 4. He has 14 total tackles on the season.
Singleton, Avery, Edwards, and Taylor are the guys that we’ve seen the most of. Taylor has had to deal with injuries but seems to be back and gaining the trust of his coaches with each passing week. He’s played 35 snaps or more in each of the past three games, and now, in Wilson’s absence, that number figures to increase in Week 9.
