As you know, Matt Pryor doesn’t even play for the Philadelphia Eagles anymore.

In any good draft class, which this one was, there are bound to be misses and a few casualties. Look no further than the Eagles’ 206th-overall selection in 2021. Matt Pryor is a six-foot-seven and 332-pound interior lineman that the Birds drafted to give themselves some depth along the interior of their offensive line. Unfortunately, he’s more remembered for his blunders than his successes.

Look no further than that false start penalty at the end of the Eagles’ game versus the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 3 of the 2020 season. That one took Philly out of field-goal range and led to the game ending in one of the most infamous ties in franchise history.

The Eagles traded Matt Pryor on August 31st of 2021 for a sixth-round draft choice in 2022. It’s amazing that they got that for him. Like Sweat, most of Pryor’s time in Philadelphia was spent watching the team trying to find his replacement. Unfortunately for Matt, however, Philly found a few (Nate Herbig, Jack Driscoll, and Landon Dickerson).

Some may say that landing a sixth-round draft choice in exchange for Pryor constitutes a wash. After all, sixth-round draft choices don’t amount to much right?

Don’t speak too swiftly. Jason Kelce was a sixth-rounder. So was Quez Watkins. They found Jalen Mills in the seventh round as was the case with one of Howie Roseman’s best discoveries in a while, the final selection of the Eagles’ 2018 draft class. Grade: D
